UW-ELAST offers roller coating using the Ribbon-Flow production method

We can assist you with roller coating. UW-ELAST is a leading company in the Nordic region for the development and manufacturing of polyurethane products. We have many years of experience in roller coating and today we perform coating primarily with polyurethane, as well as rubber through our subsidiary Gotlands Gummifabrik. Coating of rollers with roller coating and Ribbon-Flow

Ribbon-Flow is the technology used for roller coating in larger dimensions with SLITAN® – our polyurethane.

This involves using polyurethane as a coating. A liquid ribbon is applied to a rotating roller while the ribbon is moved along the roller’s surface.
The technique is similar to turning, with the difference that material is built up instead of being turned away. In this way, it is possible to build up varying thickness which is then turned to the correct dimension.

Rollers can be coated with several hundred kilograms of polyurethane – quickly and efficiently. The method is effective for coating large rollers in demanding applications.
Our capacity is rollers with a diameter of 2,500 mm, length of 8,000 mm with weight up to 12 tons.
E.g., drum roller, Ribbon-Flow mill roll, breaker roll, brake roll, guide roll, etc.

Ribbon-Flow extends roller service life

By using Ribbon-Flow technology for roller coating, we can give new life to old rollers made primarily of steel or aluminum.
If needed, we can also come to your facility and perform the work on-site. Particularly those of our customers who have rollers so large that they are difficult to move appreciate our mobile service.

The advantages of roller coating are numerous, but it can be stated that there is no doubt that roller coating provides a significantly extended service life for the rollers. This naturally saves money, but it also means that new rollers do not need to be manufactured to the same extent, which is positive for our environment.
