Natural Rubber NR

NR natural rubber part

Natural rubber (NR) is extracted from the sap of the rubber tree.

Its chemical name is Polyisoprene. Properties include high tensile strength, very high elasticity, low compression set and stress relaxation, excellent electrical properties, and high resistance to abrasion and fatigue. Natural rubber is sensitive to ozone, which can be improved with the addition of saturated rubber types or by adding antiozonants and protective waxes.

Natural rubber remains the most significant material in rubber manufacturing. Over 40% of all rubber articles are made from NR.
