Hydrogenated Nitrile Rubber (HNBR)
Properties and Manufacturing

Hydrogenated nitrile butadiene rubber (HNBR) is produced through the selective and well-controlled hydrogenation of NBR.
At a high degree of hydrogenation (99%), where the butadiene is almost entirely converted into saturated methylene chains, a material with excellent heat and ozone resistance is obtained, while oil and fuel resistance is simultaneously maintained. Hydrogenated nitrile butadiene rubber (HNBR) fills a gap between nitrile rubber (NBR) and fluoroelastomers (FPM) in many applications.
