Transfer / Injection Molding

We support you every step of the way

Do you require a custom transfer molded component? We can assist you throughout the entire process, from tooling to the finished part. We collaborate with various suppliers specializing in transfer and injection molding.

With skilled mold suppliers located both locally and in Asia and Poland, we can provide rapid service. This enables us to quickly develop both prototype and production tooling.

Transfer molding – method, advantages, and limitations

In transfer manufacturing, one or more pre-formed blanks are placed into a pot. The press is then closed, and a plunger descends into the pot, forcing the rubber through a series of channels.

The cavities are filled accordingly. Since rubber is a poor conductor of heat, this method is superior to compression molding, as the pressure drop at the channels converts pressure energy into thermal energy. This results in significant savings in vulcanization and cycle times.

A pre-operation is still required to produce the blanks.

The tooling is slightly more expensive.

Because the mold is closed during the process, less flash is formed compared to compression molding.

Mold manufacturing

We support you every step of the way, from drawings and/or 3D files to a fully functional mold tool for compression, transfer, or injection molding, using most common rubber or silicone materials.

Injection

The best way to manufacture a molded rubber or silicone component is through injection molding. The tool remains closed during the process, resulting in less flash.

Compression molding

This production method is the simplest when using a mold tool. It is suitable for small series production, as well as large products where injection volume in an injection machine is not a concern.
