Over time, pan mixers have evolved from using steel lining for wear protection to polyurethane rubber lining. Both designs have their advantages, and we at UW-ELAST have developed a combination that offers the best of both.

The advantages of polyurethane rubber include a brighter mixer with significantly less caked-on concrete, a longer service life, and a much better working environment with considerably lower noise levels. The weakness of the pan mixer has been the area around and above the discharge gates, which UW-ELAST has resolved by reinforcing the area with steel. The steel is rolled and welded to the perforated plate, which is then cast into the polyurethane rubber. The gate becomes tighter, and any aggregate is crushed when the gate opens and closes. This results in less maintenance and increased cost-effectiveness.
